A division within the Embassy of France, the French Trade Office provides support to French businesses developing internationally. In cooperation with the French Treasury Office, the Trade Office provides information to the French authorities on the latest developments and on public policy regarding economic, commercial and financial issues in the United States.
The Trade Office is part of the international network belonging to the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment which also includes the Treasury Office, and Customs and Tax Attaches. The Trade Office is managed by the General Direction for the Treasury and Political Economy (DGTPE).

The Trade Office works in close cooperation with French partners, including COFACE (Foreign Trade Insurance Company), French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF), French Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the French Business Federation (MEDEF), as well as professional federations. In total, there are six French Trade Offices in the United States, located in New York, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Washington and San Francisco.
